We came in based on good reviews and were pleased we did. Alex greeted us and made us feel welcome and shared with us what life is like in Bath, being a Bath native. We ordered fish and chips and a cheeseburger and chips, with a beer and a soda. We enjoyed the food, the pub and Alex!! If you're in Bath, stop by and ask for Alex.

Lovely traditional pub right in the centre of Bath. Food is great and comes in generous size; the wait for food is short. The only downside is high price of food - I paid over 8 pounds, probably the highest I have ever paid for a jacket potato!

Popped in for some takeaway for dinner. Traditional pub fare with a few unique choices like Chicken Tiki Marsala. Good solid food that hit the spot and warm service that was helpful with suggestions. Oh, amd they have two taps of Guinness including one of the "extra cold" taps that I appreciate.

I've been here a few times with some mates after work and always enjoyed it. There's always a table available, at least at the time we tend to head down - it fills up a little later on, especially on the weekends. They serve many ales and beers, plus a great wine selection, or so the females in our trope tell me. I once had the fish and chips here, and I must say the batter and chips were spot on, which reminds me that I must try more of the food here in future. But, the best thing about this place is the atmosphere, which is perfect for putting the world to rights over a few beers.

we wanted to avoid all the touristy establishments so just walked around until we happened upon this place. why not try an english pub?
lots of families eating here. lots of menu choices. lots of traditional english fare.
fish & chips - i liked the light batter on the filet. a little bit too fishy for me though. chips were hearty steak fries.
steak & fried onion sandwich - huge chunks of steak. still somewhat bloody. i was a bit said that fried onion actually meant grilled onions but it was still good. i think fried string onions would have tasted better on this though.
large portions and reasonable prices. i completely stuffed myself to the point where i could not walk after. somewhat a ways away from the Roman Baths, this was a good alternative to the touristy side of Bath.
